Title: Oops, Timex ZX81 rediscovered!
Post by: RobertB on February 28, 2012, 10:37:18 AM
As I was rearranging the mini-storage unit, I found the Timex ZX81 that someone had given to me long ago.  I stared at it for a minute, remembered how CBM engineer Bil Herd hated it, and then put it back in its storage box.  Perhaps I'll rediscover it again in a few years.  :)

Perhaps I'll rediscover it again in a few years.  :)
I did find it again.  It had a huge layer of dust over it, and I cleaned it up.  Then I brought to this year's Amiwest Show, where I used it as a doorstop.(https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cwqrKWl0hyk/WepsjJ3R4DI/AAAAAAAAB1k/f-ga6fPvir4tcgXlwggDhpCiE9rolx55ACLcBGAs/s1600/DSCN3697.JPG)
Two Amiwest attendees told me how they first learned on the Timex, and another told me that it was a Timex 1000, not to be confused with the ZX81.  The 1000 had 2K of RAM, whereas the ZX81 had 1K of RAM.

Must bring to another show to be used as a doorstop,
